# Pomegranates in Tenerife

Pomegranates are one of the fruits we stock at Frutería la Gomera, stalls 14/15 in the Mercado de África, especially in their autumn season.

## When they are in season

Pomegranate is an autumn fruit, at its best roughly from September to December. Out of season it may not be in; ask us on WhatsApp.

## How to choose one

Pick fruit that feels heavy for its size, with taut skin and no soft bruises. Slightly hard, angular skin usually means it is packed with juicy seeds.

## How to seed it cleanly

Cut off the crown, score the skin into segments and break it open in a bowl of water. The seeds sink and the white pith floats, so they separate easily.

## How to eat it
